Join us for the first Isthmus Session hosted at Gib's as Josh Harty and Blake Thomas play for us all.
Touring across continents, Josh Harty's unique blend of American music has become a must-hear for those who keep the tradition of country, blues and folk close to their hearts. Born and raised on the plains of North Dakota, Josh has continued the old family tradition of playing guitar. His father, both a preacher, and the Police Chief of their small town, was also Harty's music mentor. From age 6, Josh and his father traveled the Midwest performing at senior centers, churches, small town festivals and the like. He released his first "album" at age 9 and another at age 11, with combined sales of over 8,000 cassettes.
Blake Thomas is the co-founder, host and producer of Take It With You: Live Radio Theatre from Duluth, MN. Set in a watering hole on the shores of Lake Superior this live radio play and podcast follows Blake and a colorful group of his multi-talented pals, patrons & employees as they stumble through each new 60-minute adventure filled with original music, laughs, sound effects, conversation & beer swilling! Blake's work as a composer, writer and actor include two original musicals: Stay Tuned (co-written w/ Mary Fox & Andy Frye) debuted at Yellow Tree Theatre (Osseo, MN) in 2013, Jonah & The Whale (music w/ David Darrow, produced by 7th House Theater Co.) debuted at The Guthrie Theater (Minneapolis, MN) in 2014.
