Frozen Assets Amateur Ice Fishing Derby
on Lake Mendota!

$500 FIRST PLACE | $250 SECOND PLACE | $100 THIRD PLACE
Join Clean Lakes Alliance for our first annual Frozen Assets Amateur Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Mendota, presented by CG Schmidt!
Sign up as a team of two and compete to win the title of Derby Champion on Madison's iconic Lake Mendota. Your registration supports work to protect and improve water quality in our lakes!
Day-of registration is $50 per team of two - register before December 1st to secure the earlybird team price. Tickets are transferrable and non-refundable. By registering, teams agree to derby rules.
The Tournament Headquarters and weigh-in location will be on the ice in front of the Edgewater Hotel. Equipment will need to be provided by participants. Even if you don’t take home the Derby Championship title, you could still be a winner at our 50/50 raffle. Prizes include Cabela’s merchandise, power tools and/or accessories, and much more!

If you don’t have previous experience ice fishing, you will be able to learn more about this wonderful winter sport and get a chance to try it yourself at all-day ice fishing demonstrations. Looking to expand your skills or compete in a pro event? The North American Ice Fishing Circuit is hosting an open qualifier tournament on Lake Mendota on Sunday, February 5th. You can also attend a FREE seminar series 5-9 p.m. on Friday or bring your kids the the FREE youth ice camp, 1-3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Competitors may park at The Edgewater ($5 event parking) or in City of Madison parking garages. You may access the ice down The Edgewater outdoor stairs, indoors through The Edgewater, at the end of N. Carroll street to the west, and from James Madison Park to the east.
The third annual Frozen Assets Festival, a family-friendly daytime event to be held indoors and outdoors at The Edgewater, will run throughout the weekend of Friday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 5th. Please note: Clean Lakes Alliance will make every effort to hold this event, while keeping safety in mind for all competitors. Should the ice be deemed unsafe 24 hours ahead of the event, the event will be cancelled, with entrance fees being considered a tax-deductible donation to Clean Lakes Alliance.
